The need for high quality mental health services is as high as ever. Globally, 12% of the population suffers from mental health disorders, with recent pandemic increasing those numbers dramatically. Striking as these numbers are, within the last 30 years there was an almost 50% increase in patient numbers. Staggering numbers expected to rise and leaving healthcare and economies struggling behind. Mental Health Care costs Europe an estimated 4% of its GDP.
With TiliaHealth we are first-in-line to support the transition to "precision psychiatry". Our main technological innovation comes from the focus on providing novel digital biomarkers of mechanisms behind core symptoms of depression. To do so, we leverage immersive experiences with advanced computational models of psychiatric symptoms. We develop a first-in-class platform for gamified assessment of symptoms of mental health disorders that enables mechanism-based assessment anytime and anywhere.
By focusing on the underlying mechanisms, rather than just overt symptoms, mental health professionals can achieve a more precise understanding of an individual's condition, which can guide more tailored treatment approaches, while enabling measurement-based care, saving time, decreasing costs of treatment, and improving the quality of life of their patients. In drug development, our tests aim to detect specific functional mechanisms indicating drug efficacy for individual patient stratification.
